A MAN who allegedly had sex with a woman without telling her he was HIV positive has made no application for bail at a brief court hearing this morning.
Zimbabwean-born Australian citizen, Godfrey Zaburoni, who turns 32 today, has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm or transmit a serious diseas.
At a hearing in Southport Magistrates Court on Wedensday morning, duty lawyer Clare Boothman made no application for bail.
Magistrate Gary Finger ruled that Zabrouni, who has worked as an acrobat in a circus and arrived in Australia from Zimbabwe in 1997, remain in custody until his next scheduled appearance on June 9.
Mr Finger banned the publication of any information about the woman to whom the charges relate.
Queensland Health chief health officer Jeannette Young has asked women who have had sex with Zabrouni to come forward for testing.
It is believed he had sex with seven women in Queensland and others in NSW and Victoria, but it is possible there were others in other states
