The bike rider was speeding, unlicensed and unregistered when he came off his bike at Redcliffe, yet the police persisted in charging the ex-Deputy Mayor of Redcliffe with assault in trying to stop the clown before he seriously hurt someone.
But today, a District Court Judge rightly tossed the case out.
Peter Houston is an honest, intelligent and decent person and should never have been dragged through the courts over such an outrageous matter.
The rider was acting illegally at the time on several counts and it beggars belief that the Redcliffe police charged Peter Houston who was acting as a public-minded citizen.
The CMC should investigate this matter.
Tonight, Peter Houston can walk free with his head held high!
