Having served as a Logan City Councillor for 4 years, Aidon Mclindon is now a fresh-faced state MP and is calling for the abolition of local government.
He has been disowned by his own leader today over this crazy plan.
New Zealand has 2 levels of government. The UK has 2 levels of government.
Guess what Aidon? There is no state government in those 2 countries - a model which many Queenslanders support.
You cannot abolish local government without abolishing true grass roots representation.
You're backing the wrong horse young fella!
